Smushi Come Home
An unexpected journey
Developer: SomeHumbleOnion

Genre: Collectathon, 3D platformer
I didn’t even realize how much I like 3D platforming collectathons until I played this! They’re not a genre I have much experience with.
Smushi Come Home is an adorable, peaceful little platformer where you control Smushi, a little mushroom dude who got separated from their siblings after being kidnapped by a bird! Now they’re off on a journey to find their way back.
This game is just so cute. It’s so chill. There’s no fights, no enemies, just lots of platforming, some quests, objects to find, and a cute little mushroom just running around making friends.
The platforming itself isn’t massively difficult or precise. There’s a couple of more challenging bits (mostly optional) but overall it is very easy.
But that’s what I loved about it! I loved just climbing up these little structures and gliding around with my tiny leaf paraglider. I liked helping the cute little forest dudes with whatever little tasks they asked me. From gathering blueberries to running an obstacle course, this game was absolutely oozing with charm and character.
There’s very little in the way of story, but they don’t all need to be big grand adventures. Sometimes just a little guy trying to get home is enough. Straight to the point.
I love this little mushroom so much. They’re so cute and adorable and sweet. They’re always so nice to everyone around them, even when some of these strangers are less than cordial to them, and they always see the best in those they come across. They’re always willing to help, even when the requests are a little inane or arbitrary, but they still lend a hand or tool.
The dialogue is fun and got several chuckles out of me, and even had a few surprisingly inspirational bits here and there.
It is, however, extremely short. I got 100% in just over 6 hours. This included getting all of the mushroom caps to change how you look, as well as all of the mushroom encyclopedia entries, which are very informative!
It was so cute and relaxing I played it again just for more screenshots.
