Rumble
"Wicked white, what was that?"
The exarch looked up from his book at the pink haired miqo'te across the table from him who had her head resting on an open book like a pillow, having fallen asleep mid read. He peered over at his other companion, a white haired seeker of the sun who, while tired looking, still managed to keep his scarlet eyes open, though he too looked like he was zoning out.
"I...didn't imagine that did I?" He asked, wondering if the odd, deep grumbling sound he heard from the white mage was merely an auditory halucination.
"Huh? What? Sorry I wasn't paying attention."
Another sound ripped through the air, a louder, more violent grumbling that was so loud it jerked the unsuspecting white mage from her sleep, and she looked around, shocked. Other patrons in the Cabinet of Curiosity were staring at her questioningly.
"Hells, Zel was that your stomach?" X'raehl asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Heh...sorry, I uh...haven't eaten since we started researching." She said sheepishly, biting her lip.
"Really." He replied flatly. "Even though you've been asleep for the past bell."
Zel opened her mouth to respond, but was interrupted by a similar sound coming from X'raehl's stomach. She instead merely grinned like a cat with a mouse.
"You shut up." The summoner said with a smirk.
"I didn't say anything."
A third rumbling sounded out, this time from the Exarch. The two miqo'te turned to look at him, amused expressions on their faces.
"Pardon me." He said with a smirk. "Mayhap now would be a good time for a break. T'would be hard to continue working when we're all clearly so famished."
"Lets go bake some cookies!" Zel chirped, way too excited as she stood up, her chair legs squeaking on the floor as it was pushed back. "I have a chocolate chip recipe I got from a traveller that I really really wanna try!"
A loud shhhh hissed from the other side of the library, causing her to sit back down, her ears pressed flattened against her head in embarassment. X'raehl snickered and the Exarch chuckled as he closed his book.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea."
